Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW)
Course Aim
The aim of the course is introduce new members of staff or update existing staff with knowledge of First Aid in the workplace and to give the employer an Emergency First Aid at Work First Aider to comply with the regulations and the approved code of practice (ACOP) for lower risk premises.
All candidates must be able to attend 100% of the course. Reasonable agility is required and wearing of suitable clothing as candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to resuscitate a person on the floor,
Duration
This course runs over 1 day with 6 hours tuition.
Assessment
The students are assessed on the basis of their performance during the day.
Successful candidates will be awarded an HSE approved certificate.
Objective
Successful completion of the course will enable candidates to :
- Identify potentially hazardous situations
- Quickly and efficiently alert the emergency services
- Provide First Aid to work colleagues
- Ensure First Aid equipment is up to date and correct
