Here are just some basic items you need to help you be equipped this winter.

RANA asks you to make sure you have the equipment you need to help you stay safe on the roads this winter:

• Ensure your vehicle has anti freeze
• Ensure your screen wash is full with protected screen wash
• Every vehicle on the road should be equipped with a good quality first aid kit.
• Should you need to wait at the roadside after a breakdown or accident hi-visibility vests are vital for helping other motorists see you and your passengers
• With freezing temperatures predicted for this winter, you need to make sure you have a blanket or other warm clothing you to stay warm in case of a breakdown
• Your vehicle is serviced and checked by a competent person
