Lofstedt report published. - 23/03/2012

With the Lofstedt report recommending the deregulation of first aid courses, the Workplace first aid courses could go the same way as the Paediatrics course, i.e. just a syllabus.

We are "HSE approved" which counters some of your concerns but with Lofstedt recommending removing approvals it then becomes more difficult to differentiate between professional suppliers and cowboy operations.

We have always known that the HSE would retain the setting of standards but drop their monitoring and approvals side. Prior to the Lofstedt report, it seemed that this task would be passed to Awarding Organisations under the control of Ofqual but this may not be the case.

If workplace first aid is left unregulated, then you, our valued customer would need and seek confidence in your first aid provider.

So what are we doing? We have already applied for Ofqual approval as an Awarding Organisation, as we feel that credibility holds the difference between winning or losing business and your peace of mind in our professional outlook is important.

So call RANA risk management now ~ your approved, forward thinking and insured first aid provider on 07766 462750
